Why would you need a car polisher, if you can polish your car by hand?
But have you ever tried polishing a whole car this way? Quite exhausting!
That´s the reason why there are electric car polishers. Polishing a car with a car polishing machine is not only faster - the results are also a lot better.
But nowadays the car polisher market is really confusing. Starting from really cheap, rubbish machines from your local hardware store, to high-end car polishers for several hundred pounds.
To give you an overview, we have made a list of the six best car polishers in the UK.
Best car polisher in the UK

Like you might have noticed, we listed only dual action polishers in our top 6.
If you ask yourself why, thats quite easy to explain...
We just want to prevent a bad buy.
With a regular rotary car polisher you can damage your paint pretty fast, if you don´t know how to handle it properly.
The damage can reach from overheating the paint, holograms to even polishing to the base coat.
(At the end of out list we explain exactly what the diffrences are between a dual action polisher and a rotatry polisher)
We experienced more than once that beginners bought a rotatry polisher to polish their car. Often times they were disappointed with the results. It just didn´t work out like they expected.
To avoid all these problems we created a list of the 6 best dual action polishers. With one of these polisher you will achieve great results, without the risk of damaging your paintwork.
So let´s take a look at that list to find the right car polisher for your needs.
Meterk dual action polisher - Dual action polisher cheaper than 100£
Can you get a good car polisher for less than 100 quid? The Meterk dual action car polisher is the prove that you can. It has everything what you should look for in a car polisher. Like a powerfull 1200W motor and more than enough speed settings. This makes it the most powerful polishing machine in our comparison.
In our opinion, the throw is also perfectly dimensioned at 15mm. In this way, you get the best mix of easy handling and short polishing times. The speed can be regulated in 6 stages using a dial on the machine. The speed range extends from 600 to 4,000 revolutions per minute.
An additional feature is the tool-free polishing pad change. Thanks to a button, the 150mm polishing plate can be changed without any tools.
But not only the technology is sophisticated, the scope of delivery is also very extensive.
The scope of delivery includes:
- U-handle
- 150mm polishing disc
- Side handle
- 5x sandpaper
- 3x sponge wheel for waxing
- 1x wool hood
- Allen key
- Wrench
- Replacement carbon brushes
Disadvantages:
Of course, we would not only like to praise the polishing machine to the heavens, but also address the points that caught our attention negatively.
The main disadvantage is the short cable length. The cable is only about 1.8 meters long, which we find a little short. Here we would like the manufacturer to improve again and give the polishing machine a longer cable. With an extension cable you can compensate for this disadvantage, but a decent cable length shouldn't be too much to ask.
We are also not convinced of the quality of the supplied polishing sponges. Which, to be honest, didn't really surprise us. After all, a good polishing sponge costs 4£ and more. Given the low price of the polishing machine, you could already foresee that polishing sponges and polishing hoods can not compete with premium products. But if you want to get started right away, you can of course still use it. To get the most out of the great polishing machine, however, we recommend investing in a pair of high-quality polishing sponges.
Conclusion:
High quality polishing machine with incredible performance at a very low price.

Makita PO6000C - Dual action polisher with forced rotation
Up next ist the Makita PO6000C. Since it came on the market in 2018 it made a good reputation for itself. In addition to beeing very powerful it comes with a special feature only this car polisher has on board.
You can choose between random orbit mode with forced rotation and regular random orbit. To select the mode, you just have to turn a switch on the side of the machine.
This means you get basically two polishing machines for the price of one. Forced roation mode can be used for cutting and removing deep scratches, the random orbit mode is used for the perfect finish at the end of the polishing process.
Certainly this feature brings the Makita car polisher one step ahead of the competition. Even though the price on this car polisher can´t be referred to as low, it is priced very fair. If you take a look at the other car polishers that offer forced rotation you will understand what we mean. Both of them (Rupes Mille and Flex 3401), are way more expensive and they only have one operating mode.
There is more to the makita car polisher than two operation modes. It also features a very efficient 900W motor and a sophisticated housing. All surfaces where you hold the machine are covered with non-slip rubber. You also get a side handle that you can attach on both sides of the machine, so it doesnt´t matter if you are left- or righthanded.
Just as the DAS 6 Pro it also has 6 speed settings, ranging from 1.600 to 6.800 min-1. In contrast to the DAS 6 you have a progressive trigger to switch on the machine. You can also increase or lower the speed by pushing the trigger. Besides that the machine comes with a soft-start function which prevents the car polish to sprinkle all over your car.
3 year warranty
Normally you only get one year warrany for your Makita polisher, but thanks to us you know that you can register your car polisher machine on the Makita website. This extends the warranty to 3 years. Isn´t hat awesome?

FLEX XFE 7-15 150 - High-end orbital car polisher
When it comes to polishing a car nothing beats a Flex car polisher. Is the Flex XFE 7-15 one of the best car polishers you can buy with your money? The only answer you can give to that question is a short and simple YES.
With a throw of 15mm it has a bigger throw than the both machines we looked at before. This benefits the time you need for polishing larger areas. Unklike other dual action polishers with a big throw the Flex XFE ist very well balanced, for the big throw the machine runs really smooth. That is exactly what we expect at this pricepoint.
However, the price is the only downside we can think of, as it really is one of the best car polisher you can get for your money.
Like the Makita polisher it features a soft start functions and a progressive trigger switch as well. Besides that it also comes with temperature control and some well developed microprocessor which keeps the speed of the polisher constant, even when you put some pressure on it. By the way the speed is controlled with a dial and reaches from 2.900 to 8.600 orbits per minute.
Overall this car polisher puts only 2,4kg on the scale which makes it suprisingly light. Together with the low vibrations it makes polishing a whole car a breeze. In conclusion this car polisher is the best buy for all people that polish cars frequently.

DAS 6 Pro - Best car polisher for beginners
Next on our list is the best car polisher to buy when you just start with machine polishing. It is a bargain, easy to use and offers a lot of power.
This car polisher machine features a powerful 900W motor. That´s a lot of power for a polisher this size. The speed ranges from 2.500 to 6.500 min-1. You can adjust it by using a dial on the back of the machine.
Besides that in only weights 2,5kg, so you don´t get tired, even if you polish your car for several hours.
Due to it beeing a dual action polisher the machine of course has a throw of 8mm, which is in our opinion the right throw-size to choose for a beginner. Bigger throw machines get more difficult to handle and you also run into problems, when you want to polish small areas.
To go with the 8mm throw, the machine comes with a 125mm backing plate, but you can also mount a smaller 75mm plate if you want to. Therefore you don´t have to buy a second car polisher for the really small surfaces.
That is a bigger advantage for the DAS 6 Pro as you might think now. Only some dual action polishers can handle a 75mm backing plate besides their default one.

DAS-6 Pro Plus - Ideal for large areas
Although we featured da DAS 6 Polisher at the top of our list here is another DAS 6 car polisher. On this model they added a "Plus" to the name. So what does this mean? The Plus is a step up from the regular DAS 6 Pro. It is larger, has better ergonomics and a trigger switch, which you can of course lock with the black button on the side.
While having a similar motor with 900W, the DAS 6 Pro Plus makes correcting heavy defects easier. Thats because of its larger 21mm throw. For this reason this car polishing machine is like the Autojack car polisher suited best for large areas.

Meguiars car p olisher - Dual action car polisher kit
Last but not least we take a look at a car polishing kit. In addition to the redesigned car polisher Meguiars MT320 the kit contains some replacement carbon brushes, wrench, bag, 5” backing plate, 5” foam cutting disc, 5" foam polishing disc and for the finals step a 5" foam finishing disc.
So all you need to start polishing is some proper car polish and you are good to go. Although we would like to mention, that you shoud use more pads to polish a whole car. This is because the pads get clogged while polishing. As a rule of thumb you should use two pads for big car parts (roof, hood) and one polishing pad for small parts like doors and trunk. After polishing you can clean the pads with soap and clear water and reuse them.
The main part of the kit is of course the Meguiars MT320. After the redesign this car polishing machine is a lot more ergnomic than its predecessor. Now the speed of the machine can be adjusted by a dial, only using your thumb. It reaches from 3.000 to 7.500 orbits per minute.
In summary you get a great dual action polisher, that can be used by either expert and beginner. However, for the price Meguiars is asking, you can also get one of the best car polishers. At this pricepoint we would recommend you to take a closer look at the Makita PO6000C.

Car polisher buyer´s guide
Before you spend a lot of money on your new car polisher you should make sure, that it ticks all the boxes. The following list will help you to spot the differences between a good car polisher and one you should avoid.
Difference between a dual action polisher and a rotary car polisher
Like promised at the beginning of our article, here are the main differences between dual action car polishers and rotary polishers.
Dual action polisher
The plates spins free and oscillates at the same time. It has a lower cutting power, which makes it save to use - even for unexperienced people. Also the surface temperature stays really low due to the orbital movement. Hologram free polishing is really easy, when you use a dual action car polisher.
For these reasons a dual action polisher is the perfect choice for beginners and advanced detailing enthusiasts.
Rotary polisher
The plate moves in a circular motion. Rotary polishers achieve the highest cutting power, which makes them the fastest way to remove deeper scratches. With a lot of practice it is possible to achieve a hologram free finish with a rotary polisher.
But the surface temperature is significant higher, when compared with a DA polisher.
Generally speaking you could say a rotary polisher is a tool for professionals. Since time matters when you polish cars for a living.
