But what is the best snow foam and is snow foam worth it?
Snow Foam is intended for prewashing the car. It soaks the dirt and thus loosens it. As a result, the coarse dirt is already removed from the car after rinsing it. This means that fewer scratches can occur during the following car wash.

A common misconception is, that a little splash of car shampoo should be added to the snow foam to enhance the cleaning abilities. But we would advise you against it. The addition of car shampoo brings more problems than advantages. Some of these problems are sticking the filters, negatively influencing the foam and over-concentration of shampoo (removal of wax). With a foam with cleaning performance, the addition of car shampoo is therefore unnecessary.
After pre-washing with Snow Foam, a normal hand wash follows. This is where car shampoo comes into play and can show off its strengths. For example, it usually offers good sliding properties for the wash mitt and a good cleaning power.

Polar Blast is a snow foam that can be applied using a pressure washer or foam gun. It covers the vehicle in a rich blanket of foam that clings to paintwork to gently loosen dirt and heavy soiling prior to shampooing.
This reduces the risk of scratches and swirl marks caused by a sponge or wash mitt moving over heavy contamination. Polar Blast can be used instead of a shampoo if the vehicle isn't heavily soiled, just ensure you rinse the vehicle with water first to remove the top layer of dirt.
Autoglym snow foam is pH neutral and will not remove waxes or sealant. The dilution ratio depends on several factors, but usually 1:5 oder 1:10 works best.
How to use Autoglym Polar Blast:
- Before you start, check that the bodywork and wheels are cool to the touch and out of direct sunlight.
- Polar Blast can be used at various dilutions depending on the density of foam desired. A good starting point is 100ml product to 500ml water in your foaming bottle. Adjust foam gun settings as required to increase or reduce foam.
- Spray Polar Blast onto the vehicle, starting at the bottom, ensuring all exterior surfaces are covered, including glass and wheels.
- Leave Polar Blast time to dwell and loosen dirt for up to 10 minutes, although do not allow it to dry on.
- Finally, rinse thoroughly from the bottom up.

If you are looking for a snow foam that cleans particularly well, you should take a closer look at the Bilt Hamber auto foam.

Autofinesse Avalanche - Citrus based snow foam
Apart from a slightly thin foam and the high price, you can't complain about anything with the Avalance Snow Foam.
Although the foam is very thin, it runs off slowly and can dissolve the dirt well. That's exactly what a snow foam should do. Therefore, there is a clear recommendation to buy, if you don´t mind the price.
The manufacturer states that the product does not attack seals and waxes. We also agree to this. However, the snow foam is slightly alkaline (Ph 9). You should not necessarily overdose the product. 15-30 ml per liter of water should be enough.
The Auto Finesse Avalanche fills a gap in the market, because most snow foam products produce a nice foam but do not have a good cleaning performance.
